As a member of ALAI Internationale, ALAI Canada is part of a network of more than twenty-five national groups. Each year, a congress or study days are organised by one or the other group and the Canadian members can thus enjoy preferential registration rates for these events. The presence of ALAI Canada in these activities is also ensured by the participation of speakers. In 1989 in Quebec City, the Canadian national group hosted the first international congress outside Europe. It also organised a second congress in 1997 in Montebello.
