The Centennial Symposium

The year 2024 marks the hundredth anniversary of the coming into force of the Copyright Act. To celebrate this anniversary, ALAI Canada is bringing together experts in the field to express their views on the evolution of copyright law and, more importantly, on the challenges the future brings. While the challenges of the past have not yet been fully met, Canadian copyright law must now confront artificial intelligence in a world where inspiration for solutions can come from anywhere. The aim of the conference is to provide an overview of the current issues, so that all stakeholders can meet and move the debate forward.

The symposium will be in English and French. Simultaneous translation will be provided throughout the conference.
