The new trade agreement between Canada, the United States, and Mexico requires Canada to extend its basic term of protection to “life + 70” as of January 1st, 2023. Three panelists will share their opinions on the subject: one from Canada, one from the United States, and one from the European Union.

The new trade agreement between Canada, the United States, and Mexico (CUSMA) requires Canada to extend its basic term of protection to “life + 70” as of January 1st, 2023.  Three panelists will share their opinions on the subject: one from Canada, one from the United States, and one from the European Union.  Since this obligation arises from a trade agreement, the discussion will be moderated by a representative from the World Trade Organisation.
